Graham County VINE Coverage
Kansas VINE is a free, confidential, and voluntary custody-information and notification service for adult offenders held in participating Kansas county jails. Access is available through VINELink, VINEMobile, and the supported telephone line at 866-574-8463. Operator assistance is available in many languages, and TTY service is listed at 866-847-1298.
The Attorney General expressly excludes Kansas Department of Corrections state-prison offenders from VINE coverage. Graham County's jail page does not separately promise participation, reporting cadence, or completeness. Search the person and reporting facility in VINELink, then call the jail when there is no result or when the result leaves the destination unclear.

The screen leads to county-jail custody records and alert registration. It is not a Graham County release archive or a KDOC prisoner search.
Search Graham County VINE Records
Use verified identity details. A name match alone is not proof, and spelling can vary. Compare the facility and all available identifiers before opening or relying on a record. Do not treat the lack of a result as proof that no booking or release occurred.

- Enter the person's name and any offered identifier. Try a spelling variant only when there is a factual reason.
- Review each match and compare identity details and reporting facility.
- Open the correct record and read the exact custody status and facility label.
- If it shows release or another change, note the event and contact Graham County Jail for the reason and destination.
- If there is no result, consider KDOC, federal, juvenile, older, delayed, or nonreported custody before drawing a conclusion.
Graham County Jail is reached through the Graham County Sheriff at 785-421-2107. Ask whether the person is in custody under the identified booking. If not, ask for the recorded departure time, release authority, and receiving agency. The Kansas District Court Public Access Portal may then show the legal basis for the custody change.

VINE displays operational custody data sent by a reporting county jail. The exact screen can change. Read the labels presented instead of converting them into broader claims. A released or custody-change result means the reporting jail says the person left that custody record. It does not, by itself, establish community freedom.

Graham County houses prisoners under contract for other Kansas counties. A person can leave its small jail and remain in custody with the originating county or another agency. Ask the sheriff for the destination. A court order can explain why release was authorized, but its timestamp may precede actual jail processing.
Register for Graham VINE Alerts
Register while the correct offender record is in custody. Registration attaches the alert to that selected record, so confirm the person and facility first. Available methods may include telephone, text, email, or app notification. The choices shown on the live screen control.
- Select “Register” or the notification option on the correct in-custody record.
- Choose an available method and enter the phone number, email address, or app destination.
- For telephone calls, create and retain a four-digit PIN.
- Complete the on-screen confirmation required for the selected method.
- When VINE calls, listen and enter the PIN followed by the pound sign to acknowledge the notice and stop repeat calls.
- Keep the jail number available because alert delivery should not be the sole time-sensitive confirmation.
The official user material says email does not require a PIN and sends one email per reported custody change. A notification can concern release, transfer, escape, or another event. Listen to or read the full event language. Do not reduce every alert to “released.”
Confirm Graham County VINE Events
VINE is an alert layer, not a permanent criminal-history archive. Reporting can lag the underlying jail entry, notification delivery can fail, and an older county event may no longer appear. A defensible statement preserves the source: “VINE reported a departure from county-jail custody.” Community release requires the release type and destination from the sheriff record.
Use the Graham County Sheriff for the local booking and exit. Use the court docket for the authority. If the person entered KDOC custody, use the KASPER offender search. For a federal sentence, use the BOP locator. ICE has a separate system with limited recent-release coverage. VINE's lack of a result does not resolve those other systems.
VINE Excludes Graham State Prisoners
Kansas VINE's county-jail-only boundary is especially important in Graham County because no KDOC prison is located in the county and the jail may transfer a sentenced person into state custody. After that transfer, KASPER becomes the public offender-search route. Kansas VINE will not track the state-prison record.
KASPER can show identity data, current status or location, sentence information, and date fields using KDOC's own labels. A conditional or anticipated date is not an observed release. Read each label as displayed and use the Release Date Lookup route for date distinctions.
For notifications involving a person in a KDOC facility or under KDOC supervision, use KDOC Victim Services. Its listed telephone is 866-404-6732. That state service does not replace VINE for a county-jail booking, and VINE does not replace it for KDOC custody.
No Graham VINE Result
An empty search can have several meanings. The person may be in state prison, federal custody, immigration detention, juvenile custody, an older record, or a county jail that has not yet reported the event. The spelling or facility may also differ. Absence should be described as “no current public result located,” not as proof that the person was never booked or released.

The county sheriff record remains the best source for physical release from Graham County Jail. Agreement among that record, the VINE event, and the court disposition provides the strongest public confirmation.
For a records-based confirmation, ask the sheriff for the existing booking and release entry tied to a defined person and booking. Useful fields include the admission and exit times, release authority, court reference, detainer notation, and receiving agency. Graham County publishes no dedicated online form, fee schedule, records hours, or promised turnaround on the sheriff pages reviewed, so ask how to submit a written request and request an estimate before copies are made.
Pair Graham VINE With Court Records
The 17th Judicial District docket answers a different question from VINE. It can show bond orders, dismissal, judgment, sentence, probation, revocation, and later orders when those records are public and entered. It usually does not certify the moment jail staff completed physical release. A VINE event likewise does not state every legal reason behind the departure.
Search the statewide portal by the available case details. When an older public record is not online, the courthouse terminal or Graham County District Court clerk may provide another access route. Match the case to the person carefully. A court order, sheriff entry, and VINE event that agree give a much stronger account than any single notification.
Graham Custody Systems Compared
The system boundary should be settled before searching. Each agency records only its part of custody, release, or supervision. A result from one database cannot rule out custody in another.

Once the custody class is known, use the correct status language. Say VINE reported a county-jail custody change, KASPER lists a specific status or date label, or the docket contains a release order. This keeps an operational alert from being overstated.
Keep confirmation details together without collapsing them. Note the selected VINE record, reporting facility, event wording, and alert time. Add the sheriff's recorded exit time and destination as a separate entry. Finally, note the case and controlling order. If those details conflict, call the custodian instead of choosing the date that seems most convenient.
Federal and immigration custody need extra care. A BOP locator entry that reports a past release date means the person is no longer in BOP custody on that record. It does not rule out supervision, state custody, local custody, or immigration detention. ICE's locator can include current detainees and some people released during a limited recent period, but delays and exclusions apply. U.S. Marshals custody may require the federal docket and the actual housing facility because there is no general public USMS inmate locator.
These separate routes explain why a Kansas VINE search should never be broadened beyond its official county-jail purpose. Use VINE for the selected reporting-jail event, then move to the agency that owns any later custody. That method protects the meaning of each result and produces a clearer Graham County release check.
